Welcome to La Teranga in the heart of beautiful and historical Gascony.
Surrounding our 1819 farmhouse are more than 16 hectares of meadow, woodland and heath with our nearest neighbours, Chateau Perron and Chateau Montus, both producers of the fantastic Madiran and Pacherenc wines, a half kilometer away.
In our wood there are badger, rabbit and wild pig.
We have a small lake, which last year had a nesting heron on the island, and coypou have also been spotted there.
There is a multitude of birdlife, including swifts and swallows.
There are also woodpecker, wagtails, finches, tits and birds of prey.
Occasionally, at night, we have owls and pipistrelle bats swooping between the barns.
Deer often cross the land and in winter come unbelievably close to the house in their search for food.
Although the setting is peaceful and tranquil the Bordeaux road runs to the eastern edge of the property boundary and the coast, mountains and Spain are a short drive away.
In house we have three elegant bedrooms. The gîte is a new ground level conversion of an old stone barn to include all modern facilities and is finished to our usual high standards.
All our guests have use of a large 12 metre (40 foot) outdoor swimming pool with super views across the valley. .
